Course Description: This course introduces new online faculty to the policies, procedures, proficiencies, and protocols necessary to teach for Moody Distance Learning. New adjunct instructors will learn about the Blackboard Course Management System, differences between traditional face-to-face and online teaching and learning, and how to effectively engage students in the online environment.
Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of the course, faculty/students will be able to:
Summarize the key policies and procedures required to teach for Moody Distance Learning in order to meet state and federal guidelines.
Demonstrate competency in setting up and managing courses in the Blackboard Course Management System.
Distinguish sound instructional design principles when converting traditional face-to-face courses to online learning.
Illustrate effective online instructional techniques to achieve learning objectives.
